The Quick Retreat
(TFA Fundamentals - Footwork)
(TFA Fundamentals - Footwork)
Video summary:
Sifu Marcus Lovemore demonstrates the Transformational Fighting Arts Fundamentals in footwork - the quick retreat.Training Suggestions:
In my opinion if you are going to practice a technique you should first practice footwork. The quick retreat is a good place to start. I usually use this as part of my warm up. Try starting with 100 quick retreats and advances and then increase to 500. Remember to stay close to the ground and limit your up and down motion. You want to translate most of your energy forward, not up or down. Finally, remember to keep your upper body relatively undisturbed and your movement dynamic and explosive.Good training,
Sifu Marcus
